All those considering in running for an executive position are required to attend the entire Convention.
HOW TO RUN FOR OFFICE:1. Register for District Convention 2021 on the District website 2. On the registration form, indicate that you are interested in running for an Executive Position. Please only do this on the specified section/question. 3. Upon completing your registration, the current Board will contact you via email with a series of information and documents required. This email will also inform you on the process for running for a position, and the requirements needed. 4. Complete a Candidacy Poster. This poster will be featured in the Convention Magazine. The poster is meant to inform the attendance of who you are, your goals, and your vision for the upcoming service year. 5. Attend the required Candidates Informational Meeting via Zoom (Friday, Feb. 19). More information on this meeting will be provided via email. 6. On Saturday of Convention, you will have a chance to nominate yourself (or be nominated) for a position. Upon nomination, the Caucusing sessions will commence where each candidate will give a timed speech to the entire Convention attendance. 7. After nominations and caucusing, the candidates will officially be voted in by the House of Delegates. More information on the House of Delegates will be provided via email. 8. RUNNING OFF THE FLOOR:This term means that during DCON 2021, during the Afternoon Session on Saturday, you chose to run for an Executive Position. This term means you decide to run without initially indicating so on your registration form. This also means that you did not previously let the District Board know ahead of time that you would be running, nor did you submit the appropriate paperwork. Running off the floor is completely allowed, however, it is not recommended. If you choose to run off the floor, the attendance has not had a chance to get to know you (i.e. via a Candidates Poster). |
EXECUTIVE POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:
district governor
The District Governor is the chair of the district board of officers. The governor has a unique set of duties that involved collaboration with many levels of Circle K International. The Governor will provide vision and direction for the district during their term with the aim of strengthening the district and fulfilling the Objects of Circle K International. In order to attain this outcome, the governor will:
• Establish district goals alongside the district board
• Chair monthly district board meetings
• Maintain communication with the district board and clubs
• Collect and submit reports
• Ensure planning of Pacific Northwest Leadership Academy and District Convention
• Ensure the district officers are fulfilling their roles
• Inform and seek the advice of the District Administrator regarding all district issues
• Act as a liaison between the Pacific Northwest District and International
• The district representative at Kiwanis-Family events
• Be enthusiastic and informed about Circle K International
• Be organized and communicative
• Open-minded
• Be the voting member of the International council

DISTRICT SECRETARY
The District Secretary has one of the most distinctive roles on the district board. The Secretary performs a wide variety duties that require a broad range of skills, which include:
• Organizational skills
• Ability to write succinctly while including pertinent details
• District board meetings minutes
• Distribute the minutes and make sure they are posted on the website
• Update the directory (contact information of all club officers)
• Maintain records and updates
• Lead the secretary trainings
• Presiding in the absence of the district governor
• Monthly Report Forms
• Assisting club officers with the Membership Update Center
• A voting member of the district board
• Help plan district events
• Represent the district at Kiwanis-Family events
• Organizational skills

district treasurer
The district treasurer has a crucial role within a Circle K district. A district treasurer is responsible for:
• Creates and maintain the district budget
• Collecting and disbursing the district’s money
• Assist in helping clubs pay dues
• Making sure all clubs pay dues
• Educate members about how their dues payments are used
• Assisting club officers with the Membership Update Center
• Prepare and send past due notifications
• Lead Treasurer Trainings
• Help plan district events
• Creates and maintain the district budget

District Bulletin editor
The District Bulletin Editor is one of the most unique offices on the district board. The Bulletin Editor will:
• Publishing 4 bulletins according to the timeline that is set by the district bylaws and policy code.
• Responsible for overseeing all social media pertaining to the Pacific Northwest District
• Be creative and professional in the creation of the bulletins
• Oversee the district website to be up to date
• Represent the district at Kiwanis-Family events
• A voting member on the District Board
• Help plan district events
• Assist in creating promotional materials for the district
• Publishing 4 bulletins according to the timeline that is set by the district bylaws and policy code.

lieutenant governor-at-large
Lieutenant Governor at Large oversees any other school(s), whose division’s Lieutenant Governor is vacant. Here is the list of duties that a Lieutenant Governor at Large must fulfill during their time in office:
• Perform all duties and responsibilities as specified by the current form of district policy codes and bylaws.
• Attend the district convention and all duty-called meetings of the district board of officers.
• Assist in the collection of district and international dues and receive completed club monthly report forms by the 5th day of each month.
• Produce and insure a publication, at least once each quarter.
• Monitor progress of all club officers and offer advice and counsel as appropriate.
• Communicate with Governor and District Administrator to keep them fully informed of district activities.
• Maintain files with proper documentation and submit them to the incoming Lt. Governor at the new board training.
• Promote interclub meetings within each division and encourage clubs to attend all district events
• Coordinate efforts to build new Circle K clubs, and reactivate weak clubs, in cooperation with the Kiwanis Lt. Governor and sponsoring Kiwanis Club
• Send replies to questions and requests within seven (7) days

As a lieutenant governor, you will wear many hats. You represent the clubs within your division. It is an essential role among the district. Some of these duties include:
• Make official visits to each club within the division.
• Compile and maintain a complete list of names, addresses and phone numbers of all club officers in his/her division and submit them to the secretary and the editor
• Assist in the collection of district and international dues and receive completed club monthly report forms by the 5th day of each month
• Establish communication with the Kiwanis and Key Club Lieutenant Governors within the division
• Promote interclub meetings within the division and promote attendance at district events
• Conduct divisional meetings and other divisional events as appropriate
• Assist the club presidents when requested and keep them informed of all district and international functions and speak about Circle K at the club meetings upon request.
• Submit at least two (2) articles to the PNW Post
• Publish a quarterly divisional newsletter as appropriate to be distributed to all clubs in the division, the board, and K-Family counterparts
• Lead and ensure every club in the division receives Club Leadership Education for its officers
• Be a mentor and coach within their division
