KIWANIS FAMILY RELATIONS
New resources from KFR Chair Julianna Smith coming soon!
Your sponsoring Kiwanis Club often donates much of its time, energy, and funds to help their Sponsored Leadership Programs (CKI, Key Club, etc.) By including your Kiwanis in what you’re club is up to, your CKI club will benefit, and be able to make an even bigger impact in the community!
Each CKI has a sponsoring Kiwanis Club, and that Kiwanis should send a Kiwanis Advisor to your club. They act as the liaison between the Kiwanis and CKI!
The entire Kiwanis is behind your CKI, and looking to help you succeed in serving your community!
Don’t Forget the Rest of the K-Family!
In addition to your Kiwanis, don’t forget about other K-Family branches! Key Club, Aktion Club, Builder’s Club, and K-Kids may all have clubs nearby, and are great organizations to help volunteer with!
Regardless of which K-Family you volunteer with, you will be building the Kiwanis Family Relations, and working to help your community!
Each CKI has a sponsoring Kiwanis Club, and that Kiwanis should send a Kiwanis Advisor to your club. They act as the liaison between the Kiwanis and CKI!
- Get to know this Kiwanian! They are often tons of help in relaying information back to the Kiwanis, having them approve events, and in finding additional projects!
- They should attend meetings, and help the club to grow and succeed! In an advisory role, the Advisor suggests items for the club consider, things to do, and plan events!
The entire Kiwanis is behind your CKI, and looking to help you succeed in serving your community!
- By including your Kiwanians, and other local Kiwanis Clubs if possible, you are able to build a network of Kiwanians.
- These Kiwanians are often looking for additional help at their service projects, giving additional projects for you club to volunteer!
- If your club needs help, these Kiwanians are often first in line to be willing to volunteer to help your club, whether it’s a park clean-up, a membership drive, or a fundraiser for the Eliminate Project!
- They are also often able to help fund your club. Helping to cover costs for events like District or International Convention, Leadership Academy, or even pitch in some funds for a club project. Kiwanians are usually willing to help!
- Talking with the corresponding officer in Kiwanis allows you to develop a better idea of the role you’ve taken on.
- They are also looking for new Kiwanians after your time at the university, so get a feel for many different Kiwanis’s.
Don’t Forget the Rest of the K-Family!
In addition to your Kiwanis, don’t forget about other K-Family branches! Key Club, Aktion Club, Builder’s Club, and K-Kids may all have clubs nearby, and are great organizations to help volunteer with!
- Check with your local high school to see if there is a Key Club. They are always looking for more volunteering projects, and would be great to have with each other, and obtain an Interclub!
- This is a great opportunity to encourage students to stay with the K-Family, especially seniors! Encourage them to join Circle K when they graduate, whether it’s your club, or another club, in PNW or not!
- Working with Key Clubs provides for an amazing opportunity to show Key Clubbers what CKI is all about! Make sure to invite them to a meeting, and try to attend one of theirs!
- Aktion Clubs are for adults with disabilities. Check with your Kiwanis Lt. Governor or Sponsoring Kiwanis to see if there is an Aktion Club, and how to get involved with them!
- Builder’s Club and K-Kids are for Middle School and Elementary School children! They are always looking for ways to get more involved with their community, and would be great groups to volunteer with!
Regardless of which K-Family you volunteer with, you will be building the Kiwanis Family Relations, and working to help your community!
